Last year was a time of God taking us to another growth level, as well as developing a stronger foundation for the training programs. I am so glad that we never stop growing and that God is always there to lead and guide.

We want to share a couple of scriptures that have greatly ministered to us during the past few months:

        Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him;
He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so
shall your plans be established and succeed. A man's mind plans his
way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure.
                                                                        (Proverbs 16:3&9 Amp.)

Don't these scriptures take pressure off all of us?! As we have planned are steps for 2003, we are trusting our Father to direct them and make them sure. We pray these same scriptures over your life. Our responsibility is to roll our works over on Him and not try to make things happen in our own power and strength, but instead do them through His Spirit.

Plans for 2003:

MORE SHORT-TERM MISSION TRIPS IN MEXICO AND CENTRAL AMERICA
We are asking God to send people and finances to enable us to provide mission support to regional pastors and missionaries for the purpose of reaching the lost in remote areas.

CONTINUE BRINGING EACH STEP OF THE VISION INTO COMPLETION
Enclosed is a copy of our Mission Statement and Vision. The Mission Statement is God's plan and purpose for Alpha Aviation. The Vision consists of the steps on how to complete the Mission.

BEGIN A "HANDS-ON" BIBLE SCHOOL
The Bible School opened January 14. The schedule includes two sessions per year. Each session is a 10-week course-one night per week-every Tuesday from 6:00 until 10:00. Mission trips are planned throughout the year.

OBTAIN A PRIVATE AIRPORT
Tulsa Downtown Airpark is available for purchase. We're in the process of developing a lease-purchase agreement to present to the current owners.

RECRUIT STUDENTS WHO ARE CALLED BY GOD TO BE INVOLVED IN MISSIONS AVIATION
One of the staff positions that we desire to fill is a recruiter. We believe that there are people that God has called, but they are not sure where to get the training necessary for completing their calling. We're asking God to show us ways to recruit new students.

LOCAL MISSIONS IN TULSA
The Aviation Missions Conference 2003 will be devoted to evangelizing the Latino community in Tulsa and promoting the mission needs in Mexico. Pastors and missionaries from Mexico will be sending teams to Tulsa throughout the year to help prepare for the Conference. The goal for the teams is to canvas the local area as though they were in Mexico preparing for a crusade. This will be a great training opportunity for everyone involved with Alpha Aviation. We are praying for many people to be saved, delivered and set free by coming to the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Highlights of 2002

Training
BRYAN ABBOTT COMPLETED THE THREE-YEAR AVIATION MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN COURSE. He began his training with us in 1999. After completing his pilot training, he plans to move to Honduras as a full-time missionary.

MATTHIEU DEHAENE FROM LONDON ENGLAND JOINS US AS A PILOT STUDENT. He is a current private pilot, but is here to get his instrument rating. Matthieu completed his aircraft mechanic training before coming to Alpha Aviation, but has no experience. While receiving his pilot training, he is also attending full-time as a mechanic student in order to receive hands-on experience on repairing and maintaining aircraft. His desire is to be a full-time missionary.

ALLAN ORTIZ FROM TAMPA, FLORIDA IS THE NEW SUPERVISOR IN CHARGE OF AVIATION MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN TRAINING. Allan attended the Aviation Missions Conference in October. While at the Conference, God directed Allan to move to Tulsa and work with us. He is a licensed aircraft mechanic. We're thankful that God sent him for such a time as this.

Laboring Together Banquet

Our first Alpha Aviation banquet was May 23, 2002. This was an opportunity for us to honor all the supporters, staff and volunteers of Alpha Aviation. We were so blessed by the number of people who attended.

Randy Singing
Randy ministering in song.
During the banquet, we received two phone calls. One from Juan Carlos Manzewitsch from Mexico and the other call was from Gary Christman in Fiji. The calls were placed on loudspeaker for everyone to listen. Juan Carlos and Gary shared how Alpha Aviation had helped them in their mission outreaches through aviation.

One of the highlights for us was when we were presented with a proclamation certificate from the Mayor's office proclaiming May 23rd as "Alpha Aviation Day in the city of Tulsa." From now on, we will be celebrating May 23rd as "Alpha Aviation Day."

Alpha is more than learning to work on an aircraft or learning to fly. Alpha Aviation is about people. Aircraft are tools to get us to those people. I know of a missionary that used an aircraft to get into a village to hold a meeting. It took him and his team 45 minutes by air to get there. If they would have had to drive, it would have been a 12-hour drive because the roads were so bad. Alpha Aviation is not about some people spending a lot of money, going out and having a good time. We are learning to work with tools that will help us get to meetings quickly. Time is short so I believe that flying there makes a lot of "time sense." We can spend more time ministering than trying to get to the place where we minister.

NOTE: Cliff is an audio engineer specialist and currently an employee at RHEMA Bible Training Center. He has traveled around the country and to Central America training individuals on setting up and running their own sound systems. He received his Private Pilot Rating through Alpha Aviation.

Mike with airplane Mike Hawkins

My flight training experience with Alpha Aviation brings memories of one of the most challenging and rewarding endeavors of my life. When I realized that God had called me to fly as a pilot-in-command for our ministry, I had two things in mind should I pursue this undertaking. ONE - I wanted excellence instilled in me during my training. And TWO - I wanted to be a safe pilot. I found Alpha Aviation to be focused on achieving excellence in their pilots through consistent training in safety and professionalism.

I was always amazed at the ability of Randy Baumann (my instructor) to accurately understand both my abilities and my limitations as my training progressed. I was challenged to excel beyond acceptable to excellent and above permissible, to safety habits that would be a safeguard against avoidable accidents!

Having passed my checkride and received my Private Pilot license, I look back to the days of my training at Alpha Aviation and realize that there was a genuine effort to achieve excellence in me. I thank God for this ministry whose Vision is to help people, like myself, to achieve their dreams and realize their greatest potential.

NOTE: In 1998, the Lord began to place within Mike's heart the desire to become a pilot as a means of transportation for the ministry. In October of the next year the Lord confirmed to Mike that this was more than a great idea, but was His purpose and plan for his life. Just three months before this confirmation, Mike was introduced to Randy Baumann. Then a few months later, he began his flight training. He is now a Private Pilot. Mike intends to carry the Gospel through aviation throughout the U.S. and abroad.

Share your prayer requests

Send us your prayer requests and we'll agree with you for your needs.

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:24).

"....if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." (Matt 18:19)

Thank you for your prayerful and financial support. We pray for God to supply all your needs and for your most wanted desires to be fulfilled according to His riches and Glory in Christ Jesus. And may you lack no good thing because the Lord is your shepherd.
