Greetings to you in Christ’s Name. Randy and I along with the Alpha team pray you are well and that your light is shining wherever it is that He has placed you in this season. The days that we are living in are unprecedented and we are called to be the light of the world pushing back the darkness. It is crucial for us to be in the right place at the right time and I would like to share with you something that the Lord has revealed to me over the past months. Wherever I have released this Word, God’s people have received a great injection of FAITH. I have been studying the life of God’s friend Abram. Holy Spirit has taken me to observe closely Abram’s faith walk while he was living on the earth and I have come to understand how we are so similar to him. I would like to highlight a few truths that He revealed to me.
Hebrews 11:1 (Amp) Now faith is the assurance, the confirmation, the title-deed of the things we hope for, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality, faith is perceiving as “REAL FACT” what is not revealed to the senses.
Genesis 15:1 After these things the Word of the Lord came to Abram in a VISION saying, DO NOT BE AFRAID, I AM your shield, your EXCEEDINGLY GREAT REWARD!!!!
Why do you suppose that I AM told him not to fear? Obviously he was fearful, perhaps afraid of the kings of other nations and their armies, or of the unknown, maybe he felt vulnerable and alone. But I AM told him, I Am YOUR SHIELD!! I’ve got this! I am here! Trust me and not only that…I AM also your EXCEEDINGLY GREAT REWARD!! Have you ever considered how large could the EXCEEDINGLY GREAT REWARD of the Lord be? That’s a mighty powerful promise! But look at Abram’s response! Honestly I think many times you and I have responded just as he did or at times maybe even worse!
V2: But Abram said, Lord God, WHAT WILL YOU GIVE ME????… seeing I go childless and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus!
It was like he was saying, Lord, you sure you’re talking to the right guy? Can you note just a bit of bitterness in his response? Uh…have you really taken a close look at my situation? I mean what are you going to give me? What blessing? That sounds good Lord, but what am I going to do with such an exceedingly great reward, I don’t even have anyone to leave it to when I depart from this earth! AND IF THAT WASN’T ENOUGH OF A TERRIBLE RESPONSE…HE CONTINUED!
V3: Then Abram said, LOOK! “YOU” HAVE GIVEN ME NO OFFSPRING, indeed one born in my house is my heir.
I can almost see him lifting his fist to heaven and saying LOOK!!! You promised me a great nation, blessings, protection, but all that for what if the only thing I truly long for is a son. Can’t you see Lord, LOOK oh great I Am, God and Creator of heaven and earth, LOOK! Abram was looking at a glass half empty, when the Lord was offering him a glass EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY GREAT AND OVERFLOWING! Can you take just a few minutes and reflect upon your life, your heart and remember all of the things He has promised you since that wonderful day when He called you to follow Him, you also didn’t; know where you were going. How do you see the glass that is in front of you today?
V4: And behold the Word of the Lord came to him saying, THIS ONE SHALL “NOT” be your heir, but one who WILL COME from your OWN BODY “SHALL BE YOUR HEIR!”
V5: (Amp) Then He brought him outside his tent into the starlight and said LOOK NOW toward heaven and count the stars IF YOU ARE ABLE TO NUMBER THEM and He said to him SO SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS BE!
Why do you suppose the Lord brought him outside his tent? Because he was “inside!” Inside the TENT OF “HIS” REALITY! The tent of DOUBTS, FEARS, UNBELIEF, BITTERNESS, UNFORGIVENESS, IMPOSSIBILITIES, WORRIES, FRUSTRATIONS, SELF-PITY, DEPRESSION, EARTHLY VISION. He probably had to drag him outside by the hair and yank his head back and said now YOU LOOK! Go on, count my stars if you think you can!!!! Go on! SO SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS BE! Not maybe will be, not possibly will be, but SHALL BE! Do you realize so many of us live inside the tents of our own realities, many times realities that we have created by the decisions that we have made! We live inside our tents and for that reason we can’t see or believe the promises that He has spoken over each of our lives and futures. When we are in our tents the only thing that we can see is ourselves and our impossibilities. The Lord showed me that we MUST come outside of our tents, stop believing the lies of the enemy, but believe Him because without faith it is impossible to please Him.
V6: (Amp) And Abram BELIEVED, trusted in, relied on, remained stedfast to the Lord and He counted it to him as righteousness (right standing with God) V7: And He said to him, I AM the SAME Lord who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldees to give you this land as an inheritance.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
I want to finish with one VERY key point that Holy Spirit made so clear to me. Today at this very hour it is extremely important that we are in the right place at the right time.
Genesis 18:1 Then the Lord appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre as he was sitting at the tent DOOR in the heat of the day!
Abraham was no longer INSIDE the tent, now he was positioned AT THE DOOR where he could SEE! A position that enabled him to look and see the three men that had come to him. It was a position of faith, a place of trust. Even though Sarah was still inside the tent, and laughed at the thought of her giving birth at such an old age, V14: the Lord said “Is ANYTHING” too hard for the Lord? Abraham was at the door waiting and expecting their visit, for that reason he saw them! He was in the right place. We too must be positioned at the door at this hour in faith, expectant, because only those who are of faith are the sons of Abraham.
Galatians 3:7-8 Therefore know that ONLY THOSE WHO ARE OF FAITH are sons of Abraham. And if you are Christ’s then you are Abraham’s seeds and HEIRS according to the PROMISE!
